Water Conditions & Fishing
The Brisbane River at Jindalee typically has moderate flow rates, increasing after rain. Check BOM warnings for flood alerts. Water quality varies with rainfall – best 3-4 days after rain has cleared. Watch for floating debris after storms. Popular catches include Australian bass, catfish, and bream. The rock walls upstream are productive at dawn and dusk. Try the deeper holes near the Centenary Bridge for bigger fish. Live bait works well, particularly yabbies and worms.
Speed Zones
6 knot zone extends 100m from the ramp. General river speed limit is 40 knots, reduced to 6 knots near bridges, other vessels, and swimmers. Water ski zones are marked – maintain safe distances from shore and other boats. Always check current Maritime Safety Queensland regulations.
Facilities & Maintenance
The ramp features a floating pontoon (replaced 2023), fish cleaning station with running water, and nearby public toilets (200m walk). Council maintains the ramp monthly, usually Tuesday mornings – check Brisbane City Council website for maintenance schedules. Security lighting operates dusk to dawn.
